Ski/Snowboard Helmets – Ten Excuses Not To Wear One

Should you be sporting a ski/snowboard helmet when you are on the mountain? Most likely. Helmets aren’t a magic bullet that will protect you in all events but, like seatbelts, they may be the difference between minor and severe injury. As a ski patroller I’ve seen the difference they make in the reduction of head injuries on the slopes. As they’ve become far more popular over the years and turned out to be the standard wear for the recreational skier/rider as well as racers, head injuries have decreased and awareness of the dangers of head injuries has increased. Do you wear a helmet? [suite...]
